In May 2000, the SIU relocated from downtown Toronto to an 18,000 square foot facility strategically located near major highways and the Pearson International Airport.

The location makes it easier to deploy investigators and technicians to incident sites and is specifially designed and equipped to meet the operational requirements of the SIU. Most particularly, the new premises allow for the space and infrastructure needed to support the SIU's stand-alone Forensic Identification Section.
