Careers
SIU Investigators are the front line of the Unit, its "face" in the community. Investigations must be carried out in a credible, fair and balanced manner. In compliance with the Police Services Act and with the operating procedures of the SIU, investigators conduct objective, fair, unbiased and timely investigations into incidents of serious injury and death which may have resulted from criminal offences committed by police officers.
SIU investigators are consistently training to maintain the highest investigative standards. The investigative staff are all peace officers. They come to the SIU both from a policing background and civilian investigative backgrounds.
To fufill its mandate effectively, the SIU is also supported by an Executive Officer, Legal Counsel, Administrative Manager, Communications Manager, Training Coordinator, and an administrative staff composed of transcribers, a central registry clerk, a budget and inventory clerk, an information technology systems analyst and administrative assistants.
The SIU is committed to employment equity. All job postings can be found on the Government of Ontario Job Opportunities website at www.gojobs.gov.on.ca.
