Case Number: 18-TCI-046

Mississauga, ON (16 April, 2018) ---
The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, has terminated an investigation into the arrest of a 17-year-old male in February of 2018 by Toronto Police Service officers.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on February 18, 2018, the young man was arrested in the area of Jane Street and Weston Road for numerous offences. While the young man was in custody, he complained of soreness to one of his hands, and as a result he was taken to hospital for treatment. An x-ray examination was not able to confirm any serious injury.

Director Loparco said, “The evidence establishes that the young man did not sustain a serious injury. As such, I have terminated the investigation into this incident.”
