No Charges to Issue in Relation to Bradford Collision that Resulted in Injuries to Four Men
- Le 24 juillet 2018, vers 17 h 30, des agents du Service de police de Simcoe Sud ont commencé à enquêter sur un véhicule au centre commercial Tanger Outlets, à Cookstown.
- Lorsque le véhicule d’intérêt a quitté le stationnement, les agents l’ont suivi.
- Le véhicule s’est dirigé vers l’est sur la route 89, a fait un virage vers le sud sur la 10th Sideroad, puis s’est engagé vers l’ouest sur la route 88.
- Juste à l’est de l’autoroute 400, le véhicule est entré en collision avec une camionnette qui roulait en sens inverse.
- Trois occupants du véhicule suivi et deux de la camionnette ont été transportés à l’hôpital pour le traitement de blessures graves.

The SIU is an independent government agency that investigates the conduct of officials (police officers as well as special constables with the Niagara Parks Commission and peace officers with the Legislative Protective Service) that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault and/or the discharge of a firearm at a person. All investigations are conducted by SIU investigators who are civilians. Under the Special Investigations Unit Act, the Director of the SIU must
- consider whether the official has committed a criminal offence in connection with the incident under investigation
- depending on the evidence, cause a criminal charge to be laid against the official where grounds exist for doing so, or close the file without any charges being laid
- publicly report the results of its investigations
