No Charges to Issue in Relation to New Year’s Day Hamilton Interaction

Case Number: 20-OCI-001

Mississauga, ON (30 July, 2020) ---
On January 1, 2020, a 26-year-old woman attended a hospital in Hamilton and was diagnosed with a broken elbow. The injury was the result of the woman’s fall in the course of an interaction with a Hamilton Police Service officer earlier that day. The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the woman’s fall and injury.
