SIU Appealing for Witnesses to Man’s Arrest by Police in Toronto Apartment Lobby

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is appealing for witnesses to an interaction that occurred last week between Toronto Police Service officers and a 35-year-old man. 

Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 8 p.m. on December 12, 2018, Toronto Police Service officers attended an apartment building located at 300 Dufferin Street to investigate a domestic incident.
  • Soon after leaving the apartment unit of interest, they encountered a man not related to their earlier investigation. There was an interaction between officers and the man.
  • The man was arrested in the lobby and then transported to hospital for treatment of a serious injury.

Two investigators have been assigned to this incident.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The Unit is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident to upload that video through the SIU website.

  • de faire rapport des résultats de toute enquête au procureur général.
