The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after the driver of a pickup truck fled a traffic stop by a London Police Service officer and collided with an SUV yesterday afternoon. Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Preliminary information suggests the following:

  • The truck was involved in a collision with an SUV at William Street and Queens Avenue.
  • A 45-year-old passenger from the truck is in hospital with serious injuries. Both occupants of the SUV, a 70-year-old man and 67-year-old woman, were taken to hospital. The woman is in serious, life-threatening condition.
  • The driver of the pickup truck fled from the scene on foot.
Five investigators, two forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the case.
