SIU on Twitter
The Special Investigations Unit Twitter account is managed by the SIU’s Communications Coordinator.
Tweets will be used to communicate matters of interest to the public, including:
- Links to news releases and statements
- Investigation updates and witness appeals
- Alerts about new content on our website
- Information about SIU-related events
If you follow @SIUOntario, we will not automatically follow you back. If @SIUOntario does follow you, it does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Our Twitter account is not monitored 24/7. It will be updated and monitored during regular office hours, Monday to Friday. While attempts will be made to update the site during off-hours, we can’t guarantee it.
Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and the SIU accepts no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.
The SIU welcomes feedback and ideas from all its followers, and may join the conversation where appropriate. However, the SIU is not able to reply individually to all messages received via Twitter.
We will read all @replies and Direct Messages and ensure relevant communications are addressed. Due to resource constraints, we will not be in a position to reply to all messages.
If you have information that is confidential, please send us a Direct Message.
Please keep it clean. Senders of messages that are rude/inappropriate/use profanity will be blocked.
If you’d like to file a complaint or if you’ve witnessed an incident that could fall under the SIU’s mandate, please visit the Contact section of the SIU’s website.
Sending a message via Twitter will not be considered as contacting the SIU for official purposes and we will not be obliged to monitor or respond to requests for information through the Twitter channel.
