Mississauga, ON (19 April, 2026) ---
The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a 21-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were seriously injured in a collision following a police pursuit in Lindsay early this morning.

Preliminary information suggests a Kawartha Lakes Police Service officer in a marked cruiser responded to a 911 call for unknown trouble, locating a BMW of interest just before 3:30 a.m. The officer stopped behind the parked BMW at Regent Street and Victoria Avenue. The driver fled and the officer pursued the vehicle. A short time later, the driver of the BMW collided with a parked vehicle and landed on the top of another parked vehicle at Victoria Avenue South and Glenelg Street West.

The male driver and female passenger were taken to hospital by ambulance. The man has been admitted to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was taken to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have witnessed the pursuit on Victoria Avenue South between Russell Street West and Glenelg Street West to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 or online at: https://siu.on.ca/en/appeals.php
