Mississauga, ON (3 November, 2026) ---
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a 19-year-old man was located deceased early this morning in the area of the University of Toronto Mississauga. As Peel Regional Police officers were in and around the scene at the time of the man’s death, the SIU was notified and invoked its mandate.

Preliminary information suggests the following:

  • After 9 p.m., the man was located by police at a student residence in the area of the University of Toronto Mississauga near Dundas St West and Mississauga Road. A gunshot was heard and the man was found inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The man was pronounced deceased early this morning.
  • There have been no other reported injuries and there is no threat to public safety.
Four investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
