TORONTO (5 November, 2005) --- Seven investigators from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) are probing the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man. The deceased has been identified as Jason Steacy.

At approximately 10:40 p.m. on November 4, 2005, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a call about an unwanted man at a home in a trailer park on Patterson Boulevard in Elgin, Ontario. Officers arrived at the park and found a man suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds.

At approximately 11:40 p.m., as the officers investigated the stabbing, they located a male suspect at another home in the trailer park. The SIU has designated one subject officer from the OPP and the investigation is continuing.
