The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against a York Regional Police officer in relation to an interaction with a 27-year-old man in July of 2016 at a shelter. Police responded to the shelter after a call was made to 911 regarding a man who was screaming and being assaultive.
