The incident occurred on August 19, 2010. The SIU was notified that on this date, at approximately 6:30 p.m., PRP officers were patrolling the area near the Bramalea City Centre bus terminal. As a result of witnessing a conversation between a security officer and 51-year-old Robert Wilson, the officers became involved and arrested Mr. Wilson. During the interaction, Mr. Wilson sustained injuries to his face and head and was taken to hospital for treatment.
As a result of the SIU investigation, Constable Christopher Furlotte of the PRP is facing one charge of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, contrary to s. 267(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
