SIU Concludes Investigation into Collision in Oxford County
Case Number: 25-PVI-180
The Special Investigations Unit found no reasonable grounds to believe an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the fractures suffered by a 40-year-old male driver who fled a traffic stop in Ingersoll. On May 4, 2025, the officer attempted to stop the driver for a speeding infraction on Highway 401 towards Ingersoll. The officer stopped the pursuit and pulled over after the driver fled.
A few minutes later, the man was involved in a collision at Harris Street and Canterbury Road. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a fractured right femur and several broken right-sided ribs.
