SIU Concludes Investigation into Toronto Collision Between Bicycle and Police Cruiser

Case Number: 23-TVI-265

Mississauga, ON (9 November, 2023) ---
On July 12, 2023, a 32-year-old man was seriously injured when the bicycle he was riding became involved in a collision with a Toronto Police Service cruiser. In hospital, the man was diagnosed with a fractured left foot. On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that the driver of the cruiser committed a criminal offence in connection with the man’s injury.
