Mississauga, ON (11 December, 2025) ---
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a 19-year-old man was fatally shot by a Peel Regional Police officer at a Mississauga residence this afternoon.

Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 2:30 p.m., police received a call about an injured man at a residence on Greensboro Drive. It was later determined the man was stabbed by a family member in a residence nearby and was seeking help at a neighboring home.
  • The injured man, identified as a 39-year-old male, was taken to hospital, while tactical as well as K9 officers responded to the wounded man’s home. Police attempted to negotiate with the man believed responsible for stabbing the man. Officers entered the residence, there was an interaction, a conducted energy weapon was discharged, and the man was shot.
  • He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Three investigators and three forensic investigators have been assigned to the case. The post-mortem is being scheduled.
