Mississauga, ON (13 August, 2025) ---
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal police-involved shooting that occurred yesterday in Turkey Point.

Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 1 p.m. on August 12, 2025, Ontario Provincial Police officers were on the water near Turkey Point Marina when they spotted a personal watercraft that got their attention.
  • Officers attempted to get the operator to stop.
  • The man headed to the marina, exited the personal watercraft and ran into some bushes adjacent to the marina.
  • Officers set up a perimeter.
  • There was an interaction between police and the man. One officer discharged an Anti-Riot Weapon ENField, and another officer discharged his firearm. The 22-year-old man appears to have been struck by both firearms. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Four investigators and three forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
