Mississauga, ON (6 March, 2020) ---
On May 10, 2019, a 31-year-old man passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. He had been admitted to hospital in critical condition on May 2, 2019, following his apprehension by several Ontario Provincial Police officers at a home in Hawkesbury.  The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined that in terms of the force that was used and the care the officers exercised, they acted lawfully throughout their involvement with the man.
