No Grounds to Proceed with Criminal Charges in Relation to Arrest Connected to Break-and-Enter at Mississauga Mall

Numéro du dossier: 18-OCI-376

Mississauga, ON (15 octobre 2019) ---
In the early morning hours of December 27, 2018, a 911 call was placed to Peel Regional Police (PRP) indicating that individuals were breaking into the Holt Renfrew store at the Square One Shopping Mall in Mississauga.  The men then exited the store and entered a nearby Porsche vehicle. When a responding police cruiser became involved in a collision with the Porsche, the occupants of the Porsche fled from the vehicle on foot. Both men were apprehended a short time later. The Interim Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against a PRP officer in relation to the fractured ribs sustained by one of the men who was arrested.
