At about 1:47 p.m. on this date, officers with the Ottawa Police Service became involved in an incident with a man on a bicycle in the front parking lot area of 1535 Alta Vista Drive. The man was arrested and taken into custody.

SIU Investigates Vehicle Collision in Peterborough

The Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service contacted the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) at 0047 hrs this date to report a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving one of their police cruisers and a male person on a bicycle. The collision occurred at 0025 hrs at King and Rubidge Streets in Peterborough. The cyclist was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with head injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The Ontario Provincial Police contacted the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) at 0525 hrs July 1, 2009 to report an indecent at their Orillia Detachment. A 48 year old male that they had been investigating went into distress in a holding cell and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The SIU is probing the circumstances surrounding the incident and has sent four Investigators and one Forensic Identification Investigator to Orillia.
